Under Florida Statute 627.70132, the date of loss for a hurricane is the landfall date (October 9, 2026). Notice of a new or reopened claim must generally be given within 1 year — by October 9, 2027. Supplemental claims for additional damage must be reported within 18 months — by April 9, 2028. Your policy may have shorter notice requirements, so report as soon as possible.
